The North Plains Elephant Garlic Festival is one of Oregon's most beloved small-town summer traditions — a full weekend of garlic-forward food vendors, cooking demos, live music, carnival rides, and community fun just west of Portland. Elephant garlic is bigger, milder, and sweeter than regular garlic. Worth the short trip!

WNBR Portland

Annual clothing-optional bicycle protest advocates for cyclist safety, car-free streets, and environmental awareness. Flow Hangout in the Park

Portland Flowmies are taking over Tom McCall Waterfront Park for an evening of flow arts, music, and community. The night opens with a Glowstar Tutorial, then four live DJ sets from 6 to 9 PM, a snack potluck, and ice breakers. All styles and levels of flow welcome — bring your props, your snacks, and your best fit (there'll be drone footage). Sober event, all ages, totally free.

CatVideoFest 2026

The world's most beloved cat video film festival returns to Portland, screening the best cat content from creators around the globe. CatVideoFest has screened in over 700 cities worldwide — it's silly, it's heartwarming, and it's genuinely one of the most joyful evenings you'll spend in a movie theater all year. Wash. Park Summer Fest

The Washington Park Summer Festival closes out the season with an evening of original soul music featuring Portland legend Ural Thomas and the Pain at the Rose Garden Amphitheater. Ural Thomas, in his 80s and still performing, is a Portland treasure — a founding figure of the city's soul scene who has earned national recognition. Free outdoor concert under summer skies.
